“Drained today”

I think i am totally “drained out” today. I had a super tired long day.

Woke up at 4 plus in the morning and head out for a run with the gang. They are hitting distance of 24km, 30km and 35km. I opt for 30km then without knowing if i can survive.

The run started out well and i think i am a bit too fast at the beginning and the returning leg and i am feeling the heat and the pain and cramp seem to visit me at one go.

I am having my menses, 3rd day and as i am running back. I got this superb weird feeling. Think my … had moved despite having wings. I am shit.. what to do huh? There is no toilet around the area and definitely i wouldn’t have carry extra while running right.

Then in order to avoid accident and embrassement from happening, i decided to walk instead so that is within my control. Luckily along the way, i saw leet Sing and i could not tell him my issue as he is a guy and i think he is down already so i have him to accompany me throughout back to cc. Kind of blessing to have someone to accompany.

Along the way, he told me about speed dating and he said that gals over there are asking typically questions like: What do you work as? Do you own a car? what countries have you been? Do you have a house? etc ?? I told him i am not a bit surprised as that’s life. Like it or not. I am sorry to say that but i just feel that gals are materialistic.

He then told me that now he do not have the intention to get married as he felt that getting married is more like a biz transaction. Ai yo, why are you so negative about marriage? I say once you have met the correct gal then i think you will jump into marriage immediately. LOL

Once back to cc, the guys are almost back except a few who are doing longer distance.or rather slower than me…haha. Think i hot 3hr for my first 30km training. No good at all. Hope to do a better timing the next round.

Tired and i need to sleep now. Eyes are already half closed.

Long Overdues…

It had been since May’09 that i had posted something.

I had lots of stuff happening to me. It has been a up n down proces for me.

Up is that i managed to do my 1/2 marathon below 2 hours ..yeah yeah.. I am really so happy as my hard work had been paid off. Training had increased so much that i start to dislike running but when i see the timing, i am so happy and movitate myself to go for more.

Down is after the 1/2 marathon, i had the stomach flu for the rest for the week. It all started on tuesday and i vomit like nobody business. Whatever i eat, my stomach don seem to accept and i am suffering and feel so useless. I cry because of this.. so useless right.

Mid of up and down – I managed to do 21km at MR lead by Ricci (the bug). He is damn exprienced with all the trails stuff and never in running life, this is so “exciting” that i nearly wanted to give up many many time. This is my first run since my recovery from flu. Oh ya, i met Lai chee in this run, she is one of the top runner in Singapore and she is so so good and i really learn alot from her.

Till last sat(29/08), is the first progressive run organized by the northface. This i would to elaborate slighty more as this is really something that will make me think of the process over and over again. The run started leaded by exprience trail runners and i & parther(sandip) went off together and everyone is walking at the inital part and partner commented “Is this some kind of nature walk.” Haha.. He never know the “siong” part.. Think my mistake is i started off too fast and by 4km, where we reached the first water point.. I am like huh..4 km only. When i heard this from Jimmy, i wanted to U-turn and go back.. Hahaha..

Bo bian, carrying with my hydration pack and i made another mistake is that i wore a singlet instead of a T-shirt, thus i had abrasion @ the shoulder (both sides). Today, Gene commented is all bruises now. Poor me… As we entered into another jungle, think they called that forest but seemed like jungle to me. Is alot of up and down os the slopes and started from Bukit Timah to somewhr they told me is called zheghua. I am so amazed how they linked till there. I only can use a word to discuss and that is I am suffering. I just went on and on without thinking. I only had one sentence in my head… “Focus on the run, think nothing”

As we U-turn back, i am so happy and in the mid of happiness, i tripped over and had a bad fall. I quickly lift my face up in avoidance of cuts on the face.<Cannot be disfigure over this run – not worth> My right knee is bleeding non-stop and i wanted to gave up at that moment but i told myself i had to bite on and move on since i am on my way back.

Finally, see the sunlight and reached back the water point and we are given 100 plus this time, i only sip a few mouthful b4 moving on caz too much of isotonic is not good for me. At this junction, me & partner had only the last 4km before reaching the end point.

The last 4km is horrible cause is an endless slopes. When one is done, you never know there is another waiting for me. My partner is the king of slope, nothing is too hard for him but still he stayed with me. I kept asking partner if we walked up the slope and run or run the slope and walk the flat but ended, no lor, we ran all.

Finally, when we see the finishing point, we dash thru caz i tell him, can run or cannot run is a issue, the pattern must be there. Hahaha.. He bring me to the medic immediately after the run and rest of our frinds are laughing at me for screaming when the wound is being cleaned up. Is not funny especially i am the one, right. I had a bad case of toes cramping after the run and that mean i am low in sodium. What a run and i had a good sleep that night.

Riding day

Finally, the audit had come to an end and i dare to say life is somehow back to normal. Yeah. Conclusion is for the Hedge Accounting section, out of 9 sets, 7 had been passed through. This seem to be a good news to me.

I went to riding with the “rock republic”. S smsed me this morning and asked me to go riding with her. So i msg W but he says he cannot make it and asked me to ride on sunday instead but i am scared i might be not able to wake up as this saturday i be staying up late. So i did not promise him.

Back to the riding, the usual route to Tuas and had to ride pass three slopes and i am tired after the slopes and i keep pushing myself to go forward and stay slowly behind A. He is leading us today. He keeps pushing us to go and seriously i am very tired and the best part is i did not bring my water fuel along and i am damn thirsty. S offered me but there is no time to stop for a drink and just had to go and go….

We rode all the way till the 2nd link check point and U – Turn back to AYE. For me and S, we split from them at the Jurong Bird Park and they commented that i had made good improvement and i am happy to hear that. I began to fall in love with my bike more and more. I just pray that A and group does not stop this weekly ride or everything will be back to zero.

Run…

This week, i am going for training at SP instead of my weekly ride. This is due to Poly 50 is next week. I thought since that the race day is nearer, there will be a trial run at the actual route. No is the answer from Captain S. He said we had to continue with the strength training.

The training of the night is 4 times up to the BA slope. 3 Times – 200m & 3 Times – 300m. I got freaked out. Seriously, i can feel that my knee cap is giving way so i requested if i can skip the 300m workout. Going up the slope is already bad enough but i insisted that we had to do training as a team.

So after all the bargaining, is a win-win situation. I did 4 times up the slope – avg time is like 32-34sec. Then did another 2 times 200m before heading to run round the campus for 3km. The campus, we had to clocked like 18mins. Z***** decided to go for the campus run instead doing the 300m trackwork.  

Think about it, i seem to do extra wor.. i gave up doing 1 x 200, 3 x 300. Total 1100m. Instead i choose to do, 3000m. So nett, i did an extra of 1900m. OMG!! Why didn’t i do the calculation before agree to captain’s training. Ha! It ok lah cause i requested for a long run too. I feel that LR can help in recovery. Indeed i felt good too after the 3km run.

I did not join the guys for dinner cause i had to rush back to fix up my new toy. Going to install the MS 2003- passed to me by K*** but cannot be done. Maybe my NB is too good. Cannot download one… But nevermind, i managed to connect the wireless and tried it out. Good is the word. Then, i go ahead to rip music into the window media. Boyz, that is tiring. After doing for like 2 disc, i am like body aching…

My sleeping time is over by then, i am supposed to sleep by 11pm but since i passed the time, i can’t sleep .. So i continued with my ripping.. Still i cannot do much… I hate waiting. Tomorrow, i want to go and get laptop cover and sticker etc…Hmm..thinking where can i go now…

The finale of 溏心风暴。

Determined to finish watching the last few episodes of 溏心风暴。Think as a person, must always think of karma. Don’t ever let those who had been good to you. At the end of the day, you will ended up being nothing. The junior mum – ah kam finally know who are the one good and bad to her, after all the fightings and hurting. We should learn to love your enemy so that we will be able to lead an happier life.

The ending is not so anti-climax as reported. I find it ok lar. shall keep it suspended for those who are watching the show now or in future.

Went for a swim despite it was a raining day. I reached the pool about 10 plus and it still pouring. Think there is no thunderstorm so we are allowed to get into the pool. The water in fact is warm. I feel so good. I wanted to do a 30 laps but due to time constraints, i managed to swim 26laps only 😦 . I really welcome the gushing of the water thru you, esp in warm water. unlike cold shivering water most of the time. I find myself very amazing. From starting from lane 5, i ended up finishing in lane 7. OMG…

Went for lunch at Jalan Besar – love the northern Tom Yam soup. It is quite different as the soup is more of the milky base instead of the normal clear soup base. “yum. yum.” Thou the food are yummy there but the service there sucks. When we used to go in the past, they allowed the refill of the soup but now they had to charge additional $1.00. Ya, it not big deal but is just that the owner is getting more and more calculative.

Seem like it is a rainy day on saturday and i find myself sleeping while having a leg massage. I had an hour of massage and i find myself so tired and sleep almost immediately. After that, i kind of missed the chicken wings at TCC and decided to headed there for it and took one out of 6. That goes my swimming in the morning..Haiz…

Normally, i would not go running in the night but i did it on sat night. Ha ha. A young boy jio me go running around the estate at about 11pm and we ran about 5km. He is very determined runner and always trying hard to keep up with me and i am very impressed by his attitude. The motive for hime to run is to lose weight. Haha. At the end of the run, he told me, “think i had already lost 2kg.” Haha.. Hope we can do more this night running again so at least we can sleep late the next day. Good idea, right

Yesterday is the Poly 50 training. The workout for the night is 8 X 400m. When i heard this, i am like, 400M..you sure. If you ask me to go long run for hours i am ok but if you ask me to do track workout, i will die in front of you.

Since Poly days, i had not done a workout more that 200m. As that time, my core event is like 200m and jumps and i will concentrate more on the speed.

Yesterday night, i had to do 8 times… of 400m. Rest time is 4 minutes.

1st round – follow behind our ironmaid – L*** and she is like rocket – zoom and off she goes..think this i clock like 130

2nd round – my legs are shaking now and i am telling myself just to stride finish the run. – think i clock like 130..Seem consistence.

3th round – I am telling myself – just go for it and think otherwise…. this is i am not sure. Timing to me is not an issue now. Finishing is more important to me. This round, WC shoes sole drop off and he stopped from that round. They guys went..Like that also can, ok i am to tear my sole apart. Haha..

4th round..5th round and finally to the 8th round.

I am like …yeah..yeah.. last one to go and will be going home soon. Cause i had things to clear up and prepared for my today’s event, i cannot join them for dinner.

8th round – LJ is with me for this round and he is my pacer and try to push to to 135 but think i am not able to do. I clocked something like 139. So glad, the hell training is over and my whole body aches.

Weekly ride

Yesterday had been quite a busy day for me. Rushing thru the work….cause i had to leave on dot to go for weekly ride with A & Y & rest of the people.

Managed to catch the 5.40pm bus. This bus uncke is really good. From my office building to the bus stop is like a 5mins or less if you run abit. Sometimes, by the time i reached downstair, is already 5.40pm so is not possible for me to reach the bus stop with seconds. So i will wait along the main road and that very nice uncle will stop his bus and pick me up. “Bo Bian” if i don’t take this timing, i had to wait for another 20 mins or more for the next bus to come and that can be very frustrating. So pardon me, if i held up the traffic… for like 1 min or so… haha..

Ok back to my ride.. I left my place like 7.20pm… the traffic conditions varies.. i had to be alert everytime i cycle. Along the road towards Jurong Town Hall Road. I passed by the IBP. Think that sometimes i hope that the motorists or any road users, please spare the thoughts for us..cyclist. We are already travelling according to the traffic rules. Please at any junction, try to slow down if we are in front of you, don’t overtake and cut into our lane. This is really very dangerous and this is how traffic accidents will happen. This happened to me last night. I am travelling on the extreme left lane and this black Camry i think.. a lady driver, wanted to turn left into the IBP and me going straight. She just cut into my lane and turn left, i am glad that my reaction is fast enough to slow down or else..i don’t dare to think otherwise. I am like @#%@%#% ….

Met the rest at the usual place and we set off at 8pm sharp. The crowd is small today. There is about 7 of us. As usual, i followed Y. He is really a good pacer and along the way, he keep encouraging and show me a good signs along the way. That really motivated me. I am like panting throughout the ride but realised more “seasoned.” Keep had this barrier to drop off at the Jalan Boon Lay but somehow i did not. I just carried on with Y. This A**** keep saying to V” Later after the check point turn, speed up. Cause i keep reminded him cannot leave me behind. So he keep scaring me. Haha.

I hate slopes. We had to ride thru 3 slopes before the end of the ride. I am like “a-duh”.. Slope again.. Luckily, this time i had Y riding by my side. He taught me the way to handle the slope thou i don’t quite understand but still will try again till i am comfortable with it. From there, i headed home. I realised that after hitting the 50km mark, i could not go any further. Maybe that is my limit. Speed drop drastically… I just pedal and pedal and hope to see my block soon.

Tiring ride but gain something…

Rides…

I gave up an expensive dinner for a ride. Along the way to the meeting point, i am like cursing and swearing to myself. “Why am i torturing myself in such manner.” Must to good to myself…

Nevertheless, i reach the meeting at West Coast Mac. I am like seeing all the experts and again i am telling myself ” Shit, i am going to suffer again.” Haha. S**** was with me tonight. She is a good motivator. She stayed behind me all along the way to ensure that i am ok. Y**** as usual is the baby-sitter and he is taking the lead and pace himself well for me to follow comfortably. Indeed along the way, i am like pushing & pulling trying to close up with him all the while. When he realised he is faster for me to catch up, he will slow down and allow me to follow up again.

The reason for doing this is to make me to go an extra effort to push myself for the extra mile. Really thanks to those people who is guiding me along the way. This round of the cycling, i am feeling better as compared to the previous time. Maybe due to the training mates who is encouraging me along the way.

The reason for me to train is because i want to complete my future races in a comfortable pace and feeling. I never like the feeling of demoralising during a race. In a race, it definitely not about winning but more about enjoying througout the race. So you will be eager to go for more. I am looking forward for more of these type of training. I believe, when i regain my road confidence …. i hope to do better.

I seriously had an enjoyable ride yesterday night.   

Saboh Kings & Queens….

Spassionates are simply to be labelled as saboh kings & queens.

Yesterday, we had our training. We did a 2 rounds of track as warm-up and with all the stretching and drills. The training starts.. We are supposed to do 8 x 200m and everyone is like ” wah…my here pain, my there pain etc…”” Had not been doing track workout for such a long time” So after some bargaining, our captain gave a discount. He gave us 5 x 200m trackout instead.

The gers are supposed to do it first then followed by the guys. After doing 2 sets, the guys just started their first. Hahaha… By the time the gers are done with the workout the guys are done with third set so captain ask me to do a last set with them. So i did my no.6 with them.. I am already dead then. With me doing with the guys, they will get to rest more as Captain will start the rest time based on my finishing. Thanks to me huh…. hahaha

The real training come…..

We are celebrating our captain’s birthday.  We got for him 2 cakes.. one for sabohing and another actual cake for consumption.

First, we had the “tau pok. “The guys dragged him to the first and we gers will get the water hose to spray water at him but due to no equipment check… there is no water..haha… <Mission failed> . Nevermind…. Next we placed the “fake cake” on the dustbin and we ask him to take the candle from the cake and someone will pushed him from behind and we will smashed the cake on his face.  That is really fun….

With all the chasing and running… we came to stop and so i told captain to finish up the training. We ask him to do the last 30 push up and our “spassion cheer” before call it a day. While doing the push up, S*** move towards captain and we did our last round of “tau pok.” Captain cannot move after that. Haha..

Enough of the fun, we bath and clean ourselves.  And finallyhad our dinner of pizzas and drinks and tibits.. Thou i did not eat any pizza but i can that spassionates are enjoying themsleves. Tks to people to put in effort of organizing this party.

Last Again…

ent for a cycling with A**** and the gang. I cycled from my home to Trek to meet A****. I am like trembling throughout the whole journey.

The traffic is really heavy and i got to stop so many times. There are so many times that i really wish to gave up and headed home instead. I got a road fright.

I leave home about 7pm and reach A****’s place about 7.30pm. The distance is about 11km.

I had to fix up the bicycle cage and waited for them to close the shop.

 Off we goes….

We met at West Coast Mac’s carpark. Me , ZY, and a few started first as we are only novoice riders. Of coz, i am the lousy one and no matter how hard i pedal. Things just don’t get going.

I will try to close up the gap. A**** had been very nice and keep teaching us the correct way of riding and i really learnt a fair bit.

Anyway, yest is nice training and i fall again..hahaha..clummsy…
